During the session, COAS Munir received a comprehensive briefing on the overall security situation, ongoing counter-terrorism operations, and the repatriation of illegal foreigners in the Newly Merged Districts. The COAS expressed pride in the accomplishments of the armed forces, stating that Pakistan is destined for success. He reiterated the Pakistan Army’s commitment to its selfless duty of safeguarding every inch of the motherland.

“The resolute support of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Security Forces has resulted in stability in the province and materialization of progress on projects of socio-economic development,” remarked the COAS. He underlined the integral connection between the prosperity of Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing that the nefarious designs of forces inimical to peace and stability are being thwarted through a synergetic and comprehensive strategy.

COAS Munir stressed the importance of economic growth and development in the Newly Merged Districts, recognizing the support of the people in achieving stability and progress. Regarding the repatriation of illegal foreigners, he stated that the government’s decision aligns with the best interests of Pakistan. The repatriation process is being conducted in a humane and dignified manner, adhering to established norms.

In an earlier interaction, the army chief commended soldiers for their heroic and exemplary feats. In line with the government’s directive, illegal immigrants were instructed to sell their properties and leave the country by November 1. Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti announced that the deadline also applies to those attempting to enter Pakistan without a passport or visa.

Since November 1, a substantial number of illegal Afghans have been returning to Afghanistan via the Torkham border, contributing to the government’s efforts to address the issue, as reported by Radio Pakistan.
