Finance Minister Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb delivered a keynote address at the Atlantic Council today, focusing on the “Opportunities and Challenges for the Pakistani Economy through 2024 and Beyond.” During his speech, he outlined Pakistan’s strategic roadmap to tackle economic hurdles and achieve sustainable growth.

Mr. Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of enhancing the tax-to-GDP ratio, advocating for comprehensive reforms to streamline tax collection processes. He highlighted the imperative of end-to-end digitalization within the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to improve efficiency and transparency in tax administration.

Furthermore, the Finance Minister underscored the significance of reforming State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) to enhance their performance and contribution to the economy. He discussed measures aimed at boosting exports, increasing remittances, and fostering a conducive business environment to attract Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs).
