Azerbaijan Lauds Pakistan’s Role in Regional Stability, Strengthens Bilateral Ties

Azerbaijan has acknowledged Pakistan’s crucial role in maintaining regional stability and expressed deep appreciation for its steadfast support. This recognition came during a meeting between Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Friday, the meeting involved comprehensive discussions on issues of mutual interest, particularly focusing on regional peace and stability. General Munir highlighted the long-standing fraternal ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan, underscoring Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to providing comprehensive assistance and cooperation in the realms of defense and security.

The COAS commended the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for their exemplary professionalism and valor, which has been pivotal in the regional defense landscape. This mutual appreciation signifies the deep-rooted military cooperation between the two countries, which has been a cornerstone of their strategic partnership.

The diplomatic engagements extended beyond the military sphere. On Thursday, Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, in Islamabad. During this meeting, both leaders reiterated their strong commitment to further strengthening the bilateral strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.

The Foreign Office reported that the two dignitaries reviewed the progress on various fronts of bilateral relations and exchanged views on regional and global developments.
