The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced an extension of the deadline for filing Sales Tax and Federal Excise Return for the tax period of March 2024, now set to April 22, 2024.

Initially scheduled for April 18, 2024, the last date for submitting the monthly sales tax return form has been revised by the FBR.

In light of this decision, the FBR has dispatched a directive to Inland Revenue officials nationwide. Per the FBR’s instructions issued to field formations on Monday, exercising authority under section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, the FBR has officially extended the deadline for the submission of Sales Tax and Federal Excise Return for the tax period of March 2024 from April 18, 2024, to April 22, 2024.
