The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) customs classification committee has announced a 20% customs duty on children’s Scooty imports from China. The ruling comes after a dispute arose regarding the classification of a consignment of ‘Baby Roller Skater Bar.’

The Collectorate of Customs (Appraisement) Karachi referred the matter to the customs classification committee for determining the duty structure. Despite the importer initially filing the goods declaration under a different tariff heading, the committee found the item correctly classifiable under PCT heading number 9503.0010, subject to the 20% customs duty.

The committee deliberated on various tariff headings but ultimately decided to classify children’s Scooty under the PCT code 9503.0010.
