FBR Meeting Focuses on Tax Initiatives and Fraud Prevention Strategies

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened a meeting today at the Federal Board of Revenue Headquarters. The meeting, attended by Chairman FBR, Malik Amjed Zubair Tiwana, and Members of the Board, centered around various tax-related initiatives within the Revenue Division. Key agenda items included the Tajir Dost Scheme, Information Technology projects, and strategies to combat tax fraud and counterfeit invoices.

Addressing the Tajir Dost Scheme, the Minister emphasized its significance in integrating small traders into the tax framework, underlining the government’s unwavering commitment to its success for expanding the tax base. Furthermore, he stressed the necessity of establishing an efficient mechanism to identify instances of tax evasion and counterfeit invoices, ensuring the retrieval of sales tax evaded through deceptive means.

The meeting also delved into other pertinent issues such as revenue collection endeavors and the ongoing digitalization efforts within the FBR.
