The government is poised to select an international consultant to spearhead the digitization efforts of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) next week, aiming to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Minister for Finance and Revenues Muhammad Aurangzeb chaired a virtual meeting from Washington DC, overseeing the selection process.

After evaluating technical expertise, Karandaaz and the selection committee handpicked two international consultants from among 10 participating parties. The chosen consultant will oversee the end-to-end digitization of manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and other potential taxpayers.

The forthcoming phase involves opening the financial bidding of the selected consultants, with expectations of fierce competition. M/S McKinsey is among the contenders, with the potential to secure the consultancy if its financial bid proves to be the most competitive.

FBR will collaborate with Karandaaz to develop a comprehensive digital strategy aimed at realizing the FBR’s digital transformation goals and implementing digitalization initiatives effectively.
