Chief Coordinator of the Tajir Dost Scheme, Naeem Mir, emphasized the significance of making the registration campaign a success, terming it a national duty. The conference followed a meeting with Lahore’s trade organizations, where officials from the city’s markets were also present.

Naeem Mir announced that the easy registration process in the Tajir Dost Scheme has been finalized, with approximately 14,000 traders already registered. He reiterated the commitment to register every last trader in the country, ensuring no one is left behind. The method of tax collection from registered traders will be decided through consultation with trade organizations, ensuring inclusivity and cooperation.

Regional offices and facilitation centers have been established for the Tajir Dost Scheme, allowing trader organizations to hold meetings and understand the scheme. FBR officials are available for any information, eliminating excuses for non-registration. The meeting concluded with an agreement to fully cooperate with FBR officials.

In Lahore, 24 FBR teams visit markets daily, with special care taken during the hot weather season. Market association presidents are urged to issue circulars promoting registration with the Tajir Dost Scheme. Registered traders should display their NTN numbers on their shops, while those without an NTN can register through the mobile app.

Naeem Mir expressed hope that traders will fulfill this national duty, contributing to the country’s economic growth. The Tajir Dost Scheme aims to bring traders into the tax net, promoting a culture of tax compliance and documentation.
