According to an official notification, educational institutions in the federal capital will now remain closed until August 4, 2024. The notification issued by the Federal Ministry of Education reads: “Due to the intense hot and humid weather in the Federal Capital, it has been decided to extend summer vacation in ICT schools/colleges till August 4, 2024.” The Ministry’s decision aligns with measures taken by other regions in Pakistan, such as Sindh and Balochistan, to ensure the well-being of students and educators during extreme weather conditions.
Earlier, the Sindh government had also extended the summer vacations for all schools in the province until August 14. This extension was made due to the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions. The Sindh Education Department issued a notification stating that the new academic year in the province will commence on August 15. According to this notification, all private and government schools in Sindh will remain closed until August 14.
The extension of summer vacations in Islamabad, Sindh, and Balochistan reflects a broader concern for the health and safety of students and educators.
