Pakistan’s Finance Minister Meets Asian Development Bank President for Partnership Talks

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb recently convened a meeting with Mr. Masatsugu Asakawa, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), to discuss enhancing Pakistan’s partnership with the institution. The discussions centered on safeguarding Pakistan’s country envelope of concessional financing and outlining future project pipelines.

During the meeting, both parties underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and ADB to address the country’s development needs effectively. Minister Aurangzeb emphasized the significance of securing concessional financing to support Pakistan’s socioeconomic initiatives and infrastructure projects.

President Asakawa reaffirmed ADB’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development agenda and expressed willingness to explore avenues for further collaboration. The discussions also focused on identifying priority sectors and formulating a strategic approach to maximize the impact of ADB’s assistance in Pakistan.

The meeting concluded with mutual agreement on the need for continued dialogue and coordination to ensure the successful implementation of future projects and initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable development in Pakistan.
