Chairman Zhu Zhaojiang of Transsion Holdings met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif during the latter’s official visit to China, expressing the company’s interest in enhancing its investment footprint in Pakistan. Discussions revolved around potential investments in mobile phone manufacturing, electric bikes, modern agriculture, and fintech sectors.

During the meeting, Zhu Zhaojiang conveyed his company’s keen interest in boosting investment in various sectors vital to Pakistan’s economic growth. Specifically, Transsion Holdings expressed plans to expand its presence in mobile phone manufacturing, aiming to increase exports from Pakistan.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif assured Chairman Zhu Zhaojiang of the government’s commitment to facilitating foreign investors and businessmen. He directed relevant federal ministers and Pakistan’s Ambassador in China to devise a strategy in coordination with Transsion Holdings to expedite investment plans.

Highlighting Pakistan’s abundant resources and burgeoning youth population, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif extended an invitation to Transsion Holdings to consider manufacturing goods in Pakistan for export purposes. This move aligns with the government’s efforts to boost industrialization and create employment opportunities.

Zhu Zhaojiang briefed the prime minister on Transsion Holdings’ ongoing operations in Pakistan, including its mobile phone manufacturing unit that currently employs around 5,000 Pakistani workers. The company aims to expand its investment in the mobile phone industry, further contributing to Pakistan’s economic development.

The meeting was attended by several federal ministers, including Ishaq Dar, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Ahsan Iqbal, Muhammad Aurangzeb, Abdul Aleem Khan, Jam Kamal Khan, Attaullah Tarar, and Minister of State Shaza Fatima Khawaj.
