ISPR Confirms Soldier’s Martyrdom in Foiled Naval Base Attack

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Tuesday that a Balochistan Frontier Corps soldier was martyred during security forces’ interception of a late-night assault on a naval base in Turbat,

In a statement issued today, the military’s media affairs wing disclosed that terrorists attempted to target PNS Siddique in Turbat overnight, but their endeavor was thwarted by the “prompt and efficient response from the troops, ensuring the safety and protection of personnel and assets.”

The ISPR stated that nearby security forces were swiftly deployed to aid naval troops, and coordinated efforts by the armed forces led to the elimination of all four terrorists in a subsequent joint clearance operation.

Twenty-four-year-old Sepoy Noman Fareed of the Balochistan Frontier Corps was martyred during the gunfire exchange, as confirmed by the ISPR.

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), a prominent separatist group in Balochistan, claimed responsibility for the attack, as reported by Reuters.

Pakistan has witnessed an escalation in terrorist activities following the termination of the ceasefire between the banned militant Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan and the government in November 2022.

Just last week, a group of eight terrorists attempted to infiltrate the Port Authority Complex in Gwadar, but their efforts were thwarted by security forces personnel.

As per the military’s media wing, security troops promptly engaged the terrorists, resulting in the demise of all eight assailants in the ensuing firefight. Substantial quantities of arms, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the neutralized terrorists.

However, amidst the intense exchange of gunfire, two courageous soldiers, Sepoy Bahar Khan (35 years old, hailing from District DG Khan) and Sepoy Imran Ali (28 years old, resident of District Khairpur), valiantly sacrificed their lives.
