Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Unveils Pakistan’s First Nawaz Sharif IT City

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif officially launched Pakistan’s inaugural Nawaz Sharif IT City project commercially. The ceremony, held on Saturday, saw the unveiling of the official logo of Nawaz Sharif IT City, accompanied by a comprehensive documentary detailing the project’s scope and significance.

The inauguration saw a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the City District Government (CBD) and 15 leading IT and education companies, cementing their dedication to the city’s development. The event was further highlighted by the presence of ambassadors from major countries such as China, the US, Turkey, and others, emphasizing the project’s international significance and attractiveness.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted the burgeoning interest from international tech giants in the Nawaz Sharif IT City. Already, 10 leading companies have expressed their intent to establish offices within the city, signaling a promising start for this groundbreaking initiative.

Spanning an impressive 853 acres, the Nawaz Sharif IT City is poised to become a hub of innovation and technological advancement. The project encompasses three key districts:

One of the most enticing features of the Nawaz Sharif IT City is its designation as a tax-free zone for a period of 10 years. This favorable tax regime is expected to attract further investment and stimulate economic growth within the city. Additionally, the government has pledged unwavering support to companies setting up operations in the IT City, offering assistance with land acquisition and infrastructure development as needed.

With its innovative approach to urban development and its focus on fostering a conducive environment for technological advancement and creative expression, the Nawaz Sharif IT City is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping Pakistan’s digital future.
