Minister for Finance & Revenue Meets UAE Ambassador to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

The Minister for Finance & Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, convened a meeting with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Pakistan, H.E. Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salim Alzaabi, at the Finance Division. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss matters pertaining to bilateral relations and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE.

During the meeting, Ambassador Alzaabi extended congratulations to Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb on his appointment as Minister for Finance and Revenue. He expressed confidence in further strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.

In response, Minister Aurangzeb conveyed sincere appreciation for the longstanding brotherly relations between Pakistan and the UAE. He emphasized the historical, cultural, and religious bonds that deeply connect the two nations, highlighting the significance of these traditional ties.

The Minister elaborated on the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in Pakistan, designed to attract investments from friendly nations across various sectors. He also discussed the progress achieved through the government’s privatization program, specifically mentioning the privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

Ambassador Alzaabi commended the government’s efforts in implementing reforms across various sectors of the economy. Both sides reiterated their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and strengthening economic cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE.
