Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has assured the nation that a significant cut in electricity tariffs is on the horizon, addressing the critical issue of high power costs that have been stifling Pakistan’s economic progress. Speaking at an Independence Day ceremony on Wednesday, the Prime Minister emphasized that reducing electricity tariffs is essential for lowering inflation and revitalizing key sectors such as industry and agriculture.

Shahbaz Sharif’s announcement comes at a time when the nation is grappling with rising inflation and high electricity bills, issues that have put immense pressure on both consumers and businesses. He highlighted the need for urgent measures to bring down power costs, as this is crucial for boosting exports and providing relief to domestic consumers.

The Prime Minister disclosed that he would soon unveil the government’s comprehensive economic plan in an address to the nation. This plan is expected to outline the government’s strategy for tackling the country’s economic challenges, with a particular focus on reducing electricity tariffs and inflation.

“The industry and agriculture are at a standstill due to high electricity prices,” Shahbaz Sharif remarked, underscoring the urgency of the situation. He noted that without reducing power tariffs, Pakistan’s economic growth would remain stagnant, affecting both the export sector and the overall well-being of domestic consumers.

The Prime Minister’s remarks come as a ray of hope for many, as the high cost of electricity has been a longstanding issue in Pakistan. The anticipated reduction in tariffs is seen as a critical step towards economic stability and growth.

During his address, Shahbaz Sharif extended his heartfelt congratulations to the nation on the occasion of Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day. He urged the youth to support the government’s efforts in making the country prosperous, stable, and peaceful. “The youth are the bright future of the country,” he said, emphasizing the importance of education and skill development for the younger generation.

The Prime Minister cautioned the youth against falling prey to negative influences and agendas that could derail their potential and harm the country. He pointed out that enemies of the state are increasingly using digital tools to spread misinformation and disrupt the nation’s progress.

Shahbaz Sharif stressed that the next few years are crucial for the youth and the country, urging them to focus on their studies and skill development to contribute positively to Pakistan’s future. He highlighted the need for the youth to resist the lure of anti-state activities and instead channel their energy into constructive endeavors.
