Pakistan PM Explores Investments with Qatari Ambassador

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar discussed significant investment opportunities with Qatari Ambassador Ali Mubarak Ali Essa Al-Khater during their meeting on Thursday. Kakar emphasized the pivotal role of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) in actively attracting investors from Gulf countries, including Qatar, to capitalize on key sectors of the economy.

Highlighting the strong fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar, Kakar expressed the country’s desire to expand bilateral cooperation across various spheres, with a specific focus on trade and investment. Warm regards were conveyed to the Amir of Qatar.

Underlining Pakistan’s strategic interest in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, Kakar reiterated the SIFC’s commitment to drawing investors from Gulf countries, urging Ambassador Al-Khater to explore collaboration opportunities in the tourism and media sectors.

In the context of recent diplomatic efforts, the prime minister acknowledged and appreciated Qatar’s role in facilitating a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. He stressed the necessity for concerted international efforts, especially within the Muslim Ummah, to promote peace in Palestine.

Notably, this meeting marked Ambassador Al-Khater’s first call on the prime minister since presenting credentials in November. Kakar congratulated the ambassador on assuming ambassadorial responsibilities in Pakistan, expressing hope for the continued strengthening of bonds between the two countries during his tenure.
