PM Anwaar ul Haq Kakar Emphasizes Agriculture’s Role in Socioeconomic Development

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, addressing the National Farmers’ Convention as the chief guest, emphasized the pivotal role of agriculture in the socioeconomic development of the country at the grassroots level. Acknowledging the collaborative efforts of ministries and departments, he commended the achievements under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The prime minister stressed the need to expedite various initiatives for sustained progress, as highlighted in a press release from the PM Office’s Media Wing.

The event, graced by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir as the guest of honour, witnessed the participation of federal ministers, agricultural experts, and senior government officials. General Munir, in his address, underscored the farmers’ significance as the backbone of Pakistan’s agriculture sector. He praised their untiring hard work, recognizing its crucial role in ensuring food security for millions of Pakistanis.

The COAS emphasized the realities of climate change and water scarcity, challenging the nation’s food security. He advocated for the utilization of technology and close collaboration between the government and the public, as exemplified by the SIFC. General Munir expressed confidence in navigating through challenging times, leveraging Pakistan’s immense potential and abundant resources, with a collective vision to achieve goals in every sector, by the grace of Allah.

Highlighting the positive impact of SIFC initiatives, General Munir asserted that they would contribute significantly to steering Pakistan out of its economic crisis. He concluded with an optimistic outlook, stating that a united and resilient nation would lead Pakistan towards a progressive and prosperous future, by the grace of Allah.
