The Chinese Embassy to mark China’s 75th anniversary, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discussed the transformative potential of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) second phase for Pakistan’s economy.

The event, a confluence of diplomacy and celebration, underscored the robust partnership between Pakistan and its ally China.PM Sharif detailed the scope of CPEC’s expansion into its second phase, emphasizing vast opportunities for bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors including agriculture, information technology, and mining. “We are embarking on a significant journey into the second phase of CPEC, which promises to catalyze development across critical economic sectors and reinforce the foundations of our mutual interests with China,” he stated.

The gathering, which saw the attendance of President Asif Ali Zardari among various dignitaries, including federal ministers, diplomats, and senior civil and military officials, was not just a ceremonial commemoration but a reaffirmation of the deep-seated ties between the two nations. PM Sharif acknowledged China’s pivotal role during Pakistan’s recent negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), highlighting it as a testament to the strategic partnership’s strength. On the same occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, commended President Xi Jinping’s leadership, which he credited with ushering China into a new era of prosperity from previous economic challenges. Ambassador Jiang’s comments highlighted the transformative leadership that has enabled China to emerge as a beacon of development and stability in the region.
