As per directives of Director General, PSQCA, the Conformity Assessment (South), PSQCA team cracked down against Illegal / Sub-Standards and Non-License Products were seized and deshelf at the spot. The crackdown launched by Conformity Assessment, PSQCA Karachi Zone against illegal production at Chase Plus, Continental Bakers, Gulistan-e-Johar, Karachi, Home Plus Super Store and Big Buy Store, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. Inspectors of the Authority collected 17 samples of food and non-foods mandatory products of different brands.

During the crackdown against illegal production, the Biscuits Bakelicious Chocolate Cookies & Bakelicious Zeera Cookies Brands of M/s. Continental Sweets Bakers, Pickles Rennee Mixed Pickle Brand of M/s. Al-Amin Food Product, Synthetic Vinegar Chif Synthetic Crystal Vinegar Brand of M/s. Daily Food Industries, Synthetic Vinegar Rennee Brand of M/s. Al-Amin Food Product, Refined lodized Salt Rite Salt Brand of M/s. Father & Sons, Refined lodized Salt Jabal lodized Salt Brand of M/s. Baqa Foods, Turmeric Powder & Red Chilli Powder Brands of Home Plus Brand of M/s. Home Plus, Turmeric Powder & Red Chilli Powder Big Buy Brands of M/s. Big Buy, Bottled Drinking Water Haramain Zam Zam Brand of M/s. Haramain Food, Skin Cream of Vitamin C Moisturizing Brand of M/s. Spain Bottle by Rabia, Toilet Soap of Nirmal Rose Fresh Brand of M/s. Prime Soap & Chemical Industries, Skin Powder of Just Gold Desire Perfumed Talc Brand of M/s. A Product of B.C.C International, found Illegal / Non-Licensee.

The above units were involved in illegal manufacturing, stock and sale of food and non-foods mandatory items, without having CM License from PSQCA and therefore, these were seized as per PSQCA Act VI of 1996. Notices were issued to the Manufacturers for compliance. All Stocks of Non Conformed, Non-License Illegal Products were de-shelved & seized. Further actions will also be initiated as per law. The Carbonted Beverage of Pakola Raspberry Brand of M/s. Mehran Bottlers Pvt Ltd and the Skin Cream of Saniderm Whitening Cream SPF-15 Brand of M/s. Uniferoz manufacturered by M/s. Roomi Enterprises were found Licensee.The Director General, PSQCA has said that strict measures will be taken against the makers of illegal products and substandard items will not be tolerated in the market under the orders of the Federal Government. No pressure will be accepted in this regard. He urged the officers to work honestly and commended them.
