PTI-backed Independents Lead in National Assembly Seats

Pakistan, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed independents emerged victorious in 93 National Assembly seats. Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) secured 75 and 54 seats, respectively.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) website, out of a total of 266 general seats of the National Assembly, results for 264 seats have been declared. Independent candidates claimed a total of 101 seats, with 93 of them backed by PTI. PML-N secured 75 seats, while PPPP secured 54 seats.

In other developments, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) secured 17 seats, and the Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Pakistan secured four seats. Additionally, several other parties secured representation, including the Pakistan Muslim League, Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, Balochistan National Party, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Pakistan, Pakistan Muslim League (Zia-ul-Haq Shaheed), Pashtoonkhwa National Awami Party Pakistan, Balochistan Awami Party, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, and the National Party.

Moving to the provincial assemblies, in Punjab, out of 297 seats, independent candidates clinched 138 seats, closely followed by PML-N with 137 seats. PPPP and PML trailed with 10 and 8 seats, respectively.

In Sindh, with a total of 130 seats, results have been declared for all constituencies except one. PPPP secured 84 seats, while MQM secured 28 seats. Independent candidates and Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan (JI) secured 13 and 2 seats, respectively.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) witnessed results for 112 out of 115 seats, with PTI-backed independent candidates dominating with 90 seats. JUI-P secured 7 seats, while PML-N and PPPP secured 5 and 4 seats, respectively.

Meanwhile, in Balochistan, results have been declared for all 51 constituencies, with PPP and JUI (P) leading with 11 seats each, followed by PML-N with 6 seats.
