The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its intention to host a press conference in Islamabad today, unveiling “original and signed Form-45s” as evidence of widespread electoral fraud in the compilation of election results.

In a social media post on X, PTI stated that leader Salman Akram Raja would spearhead the event, slated for 2pm at Islamabad’s Marriott Hotel.

PTI asserts that it initially secured an absolute majority in the general elections; however, discrepancies arose when the Form-47s were issued, resulting in altered outcomes. These allegations have been refuted.

This development follows PTI’s earlier declaration of “peaceful” nationwide protests scheduled for Saturday, protesting against purported rigging in the 2024 general elections held on February 8.

Addressing the media outside Adiala Jail, PTI leaders including Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Salman Akram Rajam, and Sher Afzal Khan Marwat emphasized the party’s commitment to robust opposition in Parliament until the “full mandate” is restored.

Gohar Ali Khan disclosed PTI’s nomination of Mian Aslam Iqbal for the position of Punjab’s chief minister. Furthermore, he revealed Aqibullah Khan as PTI’s choice for the speaker of the KP Assembly. Candidates for the National Assembly’s speaker and deputy speakers will be announced shortly, he added.

He also clarified PTI’s stance on government formation, stating that the party will not engage in negotiations with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

Additionally, the party’s founder has already put forth Omar Ayub as the nominee for the prime minister’s position and Ali Amin Gandapur for KP’s chief minister.
