Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman unveiled the provincial budget for the financial year 2024-25 during an assembly session, just a day after the federal government announced its budget. The provincial budget, amounting to a significant Rs5.3 trillion, is set to address various developmental and economic needs of Punjab. This budget marks a historic moment as it is declared the first tax-free budget by the current provincial government.
Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman began his budget speech by highlighting the various measures and initiatives undertaken by the incumbent provincial government. He proudly announced that this would be the first tax-free budget under the current administration, aiming to provide relief to the citizens and stimulate economic growth.
