The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has issued a notice informing the public and stakeholders that all affiliated banks will observe a bank holiday on Monday, July 1. However, designated bank branches across the country will remain open on Saturday and Sunday to facilitate taxpayers in making payments for government duties and taxes. This decision aims to ensure continuity in financial services while accommodating the public’s needs during the holiday period.

According to a statement from Radio Pakistan, designated bank branches nationwide will maintain their operational hours over the weekend to assist individuals and businesses with their tax obligations. This initiative aligns with the SBP’s efforts to streamline tax collection processes and support economic activities by providing uninterrupted banking services.

The SBP emphasized that despite the bank holiday on July 1, all banks, development financial institutions, and microfinance banks will have their employees present for regular duties. This arrangement ensures that essential banking operations and backend functions continue without interruption, despite the closure of public-facing services.

The announcement comes as part of routine banking schedules managed by the SBP, ensuring that financial institutions adhere to the designated operational framework while accommodating public holidays effectively. This approach aims to maintain financial stability and efficiency across Pakistan’s banking sector, enhancing public trust and satisfaction.
