SBP Revises Office Timings for Ramadan 2024, Banks to Follow Suit

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced revised office and business timings for the month of Ramadan 2024.

According to a notification issued, during the holy month of Ramadan-ul-Mubarak 1445 A.H., the SBP and all banks, development financial institutions (DFIs), and microfinance banks (MFBs) will adhere to the following timings:

From Monday to Thursday, office hours at the SBP will be from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a prayer break from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm. On Fridays, the SBP will operate from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm without a break.

These timings will also be followed by all banks, DFIs, and MFBs.

Additionally, banks and MFBs are advised to maintain minimum business banking hours for public dealing from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm without a break on weekdays. On Fridays, the timing will be from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm without a break.

The notification further states that post-Ramadan-ul-Mubarak, the above timings will automatically revert to pre-Ramadan timings.

The month of Ramadan is expected to commence on March 12 or 13, contingent upon the sighting of the moon.
