Security Forces Eliminate Five Terrorists in Mir Ali, North Waziristan

Mir Ali, North Waziristan District, security forces successfully eliminated five terrorists, as confirmed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday. The operation was initiated based on reported terrorist presence in the area.

According to the ISPR statement, the operation, conducted on December 29, resulted in an intense exchange of fire, leading to the demise of five terrorists, including the notorious Terrorist Commander Rahzaib Khuray. The deceased individuals were actively engaged in various terrorist activities against security forces, along with involvement in extortion and target killings of innocent civilians.

The ISPR further reported the recovery of weapons and ammunition during the operation. Ongoing efforts in the form of a sanitization operation are in progress to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area.

Earlier this month, Dera Ismail Khan witnessed a series of terrorist attacks, including a suicide bombing at a security forces camp, resulting in the martyrdom of 25 soldiers. In response, security forces successfully neutralized 27 militants. Notably, 2023 marked the highest number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan since 2014, according to a report by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS).
