The Special Investment Facilitation Committee (SIFC) has granted approval for the establishment of Pakistan’s largest IT Park in the G-10 sector of the federal capital, spanning an extensive area of 3.3 acres. This milestone marks a significant stride forward for Pakistan’s burgeoning tech industry, promising unparalleled prospects for innovation and progress.

Ongoing negotiations with key stakeholders, including the Pakistan Software Export Board and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, aim to ensure the seamless execution of the IT Park initiative. These collaborative endeavors underscore the government’s commitment to nurturing an ecosystem conducive to technological advancement and entrepreneurial growth, positioning Pakistan as a frontrunner in the regional digital landscape.

Envisaged as a nucleus of technological advancement, the IT Park will boast a diverse array of amenities tailored to foster creativity and enterprise. It will encompass a cutting-edge research center, a fully-equipped library, software houses, conference facilities, dedicated spaces for freelancers and startups, and an exhibition arena showcasing state-of-the-art IT innovations.

Operating within a framework of public-private partnership, the IT Park project holds immense potential for Pakistan’s burgeoning freelance economy. Approximately 6,000 freelancers are poised to benefit from access to premier facilities, empowering them to make substantial contributions to Pakistan’s economy through the delivery of e-services.

Crucially, the development of this pioneering IT hub will be funded through collaboration with private IT firms, which will also lease office premises within the complex. This collaborative model is poised to invigorate Pakistan’s tech ecosystem, propelling economic expansion and employment opportunities in the digital sphere.
