Reacting to proposals suggesting taxes on solar panels, Sindh Minister of Energy, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, expressed concern, highlighting the country’s expensive electricity and the lack of access in many regions.

Shah emphasized that amid worries over inflation and high electricity bills, people resort to installing solar panels for household lighting, warranting support rather than taxation.

He urged the Prime Minister to refrain from imposing taxes on solar panels and appealed to the federal government for relief measures and substantial packages to facilitate public access to solar panels. Additionally, Shah outlined Sindh government’s plans to address the electricity crisis through the establishment of a solar park, aiming to generate affordable electricity within the province.

Advocating for both reduced electricity prices and summer solar panel packages, Shah underscored the importance of government initiatives in promoting sustainable and accessible energy solutions for the populace.
