Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, on Sunday, delivered a strong message emphasizing the importance of prioritizing economic recovery over political chaos.

In a statement issued by the PM Office, he underscored the need for sound economic policies to address inflation and enhance the living standards of the Pakistani people. The prime minister highlighted that the public had rejected politics based on chaos, instead focusing on economic issues that directly affect their daily lives.

“The people want a reduction in inflation, solutions to their problems, and economic betterment,” Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated. His remarks come at a time when Pakistan is facing significant economic and political challenges. The prime minister emphasized that the public has made their priorities clear, and they are not interested in political rallies or gatherings that distract from addressing these core issues. Instead, the focus must remain on improving the economic condition of the masses.

“We will hold rallies in 2028; but right now, it is time to work hard to fulfill the pledges made to the people,” he said, asserting that now is the time for action, not political theatrics. By pointing out that rallies could wait, the prime minister signaled the need for immediate and decisive steps to stabilize the economy and provide relief to the public.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further emphasized the strong correlation between economic recovery and political stability. He warned that political chaos could severely hinder efforts to improve the economy and provide relief to the people.

“Economic recovery is tied to political stability; political chaos means affecting the process of providing relief to the people,” the prime minister remarked. This statement underscores his belief that achieving political harmony is crucial for sustainable economic growth.

The prime minister praised the public for promoting political stability, recognizing their vital role in supporting economic growth. He emphasized that national unity is essential for maintaining political stability, which in turn would ensure a bright economic future for Pakistan. “National unity for political stability will prove to be the guarantee of Pakistan’s bright economic future and relief from inflation,” he added.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for greater collaboration between all political parties, institutions, and provinces to tackle Pakistan’s ongoing economic and security challenges. He urged all stakeholders to set aside political differences and work together for the greater good of the country.

“To tackle economic challenges and terrorism, the nation, political parties, institutions, and provinces must work together,” he urged. This call for unity highlights the prime minister’s commitment to ensuring a coordinated approach to solving Pakistan’s most pressing problems.

Reflecting on past political instability, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lamented the amount of time wasted on political chaos, which had delayed progress in key areas. “A lot of time has been wasted in political chaos, therefore wasting more time is not in the interest of the country and the nation,” he remarked. His comments suggest a sense of urgency in shifting away from political distractions and focusing on the critical issues facing the nation.

On the economic front, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed optimism about Pakistan’s progress. He noted that inflation had returned to single digits and that other key economic indicators were showing positive signs of recovery. “Thank God, inflation has returned to single digits, and the economic situation is improving,” he said.

He highlighted several encouraging trends, including rising exports, the stabilization of the rupee, increasing remittances from abroad, and declining interest rates. These improvements, according to the prime minister, reflect the effectiveness of the government’s economic policies and reforms.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan should aim to avoid further reliance on the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He described the current IMF program as potentially the last one for Pakistan, marking it as a key milestone in the country’s economic journey. “If this is so, it will be a true success,” he stated, expressing hope for a future where Pakistan no longer requires external financial assistance.

In a cautionary note, the prime minister warned that abusive language, violence, and political chaos would not lead to progress. He called on every province and institution to play its role in solving the public’s problems, stressing that cooperation was essential for achieving the nation’s goals.

He reiterated that political stability was not just important for the government but for every institution and citizen. Disruptions in the political landscape would only serve to delay the progress that Pakistan was beginning to witness in its economic recovery.
